About the Courses
RE5 is for Representatives — financial advisors, brokers and sales consultants who give financial advice to clients. RE1 is for Key Individuals — FSP owners, managers and compliance officers who oversee financial services operations.
No. The course is designed to take you from zero knowledge of the FAIS Act to fully exam-ready. All you need is commitment.
Live sessions run from 18:30 to 20:30 each evening, Monday to Friday on Microsoft Teams. The full programme runs over 5 days.
All sessions are recorded. You will have access to all recordings on the e-learning portal for 3 months so you can catch up at your own pace.
A refresher class is included in your package at no extra charge. We do not leave students behind.
Yes. Our RE5 + RE1 bundle gives you access to both programmes at a discounted rate of R2,800.
About the RE Exam
The exam is written at Moonstone test centres across South Africa.
You register directly through the Moonstone website at moonstone.co.za. RE-SURE Academy prepares you — Moonstone administers the exam. Please note that Moonstone charges a separate exam registration fee of R1,300, payable directly to Moonstone. This is not included in your RE-SURE Academy course fee.
Yes — in addition to your RE-SURE Academy course fee, you will need to pay R1,300 directly to Moonstone to register for your exam. This is Moonstone's exam administration fee and is not collected by RE-SURE Academy. We recommend budgeting for this when planning your exam preparation.
You need 66% for RE5 and 65% for RE1.
As many times as needed within your 24-month DOFA deadline.
Under FAIS legislation, all representatives must pass RE5 within 24 months of their Date of First Appointment. Failing to do so can result in debarment — meaning you can no longer legally provide financial advice.
Pricing and Payment
Payment is made securely online via PayFast. You can pay by credit card, debit card or EFT.
Yes. An invoice is automatically sent to your email address immediately after payment is confirmed.
Yes. Your employer can pay online and will receive the invoice for their company records.
No refunds are offered. Once payment is made, the responsibility to attend lies with the student. Please ensure you are fully committed before enrolling.
Yes. You pay 50% upfront to secure your booking and choose your session dates. The remaining 50% must be paid 3 days before your first session begins. If the second payment is not received 3 days before the start date, your booking will be cancelled and your spot released.
About the RE-SURE Study App
The full course includes 5 days of live sessions from 18:30 to 20:30 on Microsoft Teams with Mzwandile, a refresher class if needed, and 3 months access to all session recordings. The Study App is self-paced online tools only — Mr. RE your AI tutor, flashcards, mock exams and knowledge quizzes. No live sessions are included in the Study App.
Absolutely. The Study App is designed for self-motivated students who want to prepare at their own pace using AI tools.
You get 7 days of limited access to the Study App: 10 questions to Mr. RE the AI tutor and 10 Quiz Bank questions to use across the whole trial, plus one full mock exam and basic flashcards. No credit card required. After 7 days you choose a plan or your access ends.
Monthly subscribers can cancel at any time. 6-month and annual plans are once-off payments with no recurring billing.
The Study App works on any phone, tablet or laptop. No download needed — it runs directly in your browser.
